Strength, motivation, and 5K training


Most people with a goal of losing 5 pounds don't wake up thrilled for that to be the focus of their fitness for the day.

Usually, the reason for the goal is deeper like what they'll be able to do, or who they'll have become, once it's achieved.

For many of my clients, that's included athletic events like 5Ks, obstacle races, marathons, and longer-distance races.

They're more exciting than weight loss goals and they come with a specific date on the calendar.

Even in light of this, there are strikes and gutters along the way. So, it's as important to have your physical training plan as it is to have doses of motivation and inspiration to sustain your focus.

With this in mind, here are 10 tips for running a 5K from friends, running hobbyists and enthusiasts, and coaches.
